FAQ

How does the registration process work?

We allow our current families to register during our priority family registration by first letting them sign up for their same day/time/instructor.  If the current families need to change their current day and time, we accommodate these requests during our “current family switch period”.  After all current families are registered, we send an email to returning families/alumni to let them know they may log in and register for classes.   The waitlist families are emailed and allowed to register after returning families are accommodated.

What is a current family?  What is a returning family (alumni)?

A current family is a family that is currently enrolled in the session when registration begins.  A returning family is any family that has been enrolled in Triangle Swim School classes in the past.

Why do I need to join the waitlist?

We ask families to join the waitlist for several reasons.  The first reason is to find out how much interest we have in particular classes so we can create classes to meet the demand.  The second reason is to get the contact information of families so we can email you when we are beginning our registration process.   Please note, we allow our current families and our returning families to register before our waitlist families so the number of classes available are limited depending on the number of families who re-register for classes.

Is there an annual registration fee?

A $25.00 non-refundable annual registration fee for the 1st child of each family is due at the time of class enrollment.  Each additional child is $8.  This administration fee includes our newly designed Triangle Swim School tote bag.

Is the Waiver/Release of Liability Form required?

Under no circumstances will a student be permitted to participate until the waiver/release of liability form is signed.

What if my child misses a class?

Because we have to reserve pool space in advance and have high operational costs at the Triangle Aquatic Center, no refunds, no credits, no transfers, and no make-ups are issued for illnesses, recitals, vacations, etc. In order to maintain our small student teacher ratios we do not provide make-ups, so please choose carefully when selecting your class time.

What is the Triangle Aquatic Center's policy with our swim school?

The Triangle Aquatic Center has a very strict rental policy and does not allow the Triangle Swim School to cancel or reschedule any reserved times once they have been reserved at the beginning of the month. We do not have the ability to reschedule classes under any circumstance.

What is the refund policy?

The registration fee is non-refundable. Full refunds (less the registration fee and an administrative fee of $25) will be given to parents who cancel the entire swim session via email at least 7 days prior to the start of the session. No refunds will be issued for  any classes after 7 days prior to the start of the session.  We do not  refund for missed classes for any reason.

Can Triangle Swim School terminate my customer portal account (Members Button)?

Yes, Triangle Swim School reserves the right to terminate access to the customer portal at any time and refuse to provide our swim lessons for users who violate or who we reasonably believe are not intending to use the platform for its intended purpose.  Triangle Swim School, and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents, affiliates, third party information providers, licensors and others involved in the website or delivery of products or services through the website

What happens if the pool closes due to bad weather or an incident in the pool?

In the event of a weather emergency (i.e., snowstorm, hurricane), a notification of weather related class cancellations will be posted on our website and recorded on the voicemail of the main number to the Triangle Swim School.  We will be in contact with the facilities that we rent from such as the Triangle Aquatic Center to determine whether to delay or cancel classes.

In the event of an incident in the pool such as "vomit" or "poop" the pool will be closed for 4 hours and all classes will be cancelled.  Because of the difficulties with getting pool space at the Triangle Aquatic Center and our other facilities, if classes are cancelled because of weather or a pool closure we will issue a class credit equal to the amount of your current class to be used toward a future class session.

Are coach schedules subject to change?

Yes. We do not guarantee coaches and schedules. All are subject to change. All coaches adhere to the same curriculum to ensure consistency.  A junior instructor may be added to your class to accommodate another student.  Private classes will always remain private.

What if my class time slot does not fill up?

In the event that the class time slot cannot be filled, The Triangle Swim School reserves the right to either adjust the cost of the class to correspond to the appropriate class size or cancel the class all together.

This is our first lesson with Triangle Swim School, what do we do?

An email will be sent to you one week prior to your first class.  Please carefully read the email for directions on how to find your lesson as well as other general information.

What should we bring to class?

A swimsuit, goggles, and a towel should accompany your child to class. Tiebacks or swim caps for children with long hair will help them swim without distraction of hair in their face.

Can my child swim with a medical condition?

A student with a known medical condition must have a signed medical release from the students physician prior to the first day of class. Ear infections are a common reason why children are restricted from participating in swimming lessons. Since medical professionals have different opinions about swimming, ear infections, and tubes, please consult with your physician.

If my child has an infection or disease, can he/she enter the pool?

For the health of all children, it is recommended by pediatricians and other doctors that children with a fever, rash or any other symptom of an infection participate in an aquatic program. Infections are usually spread among children by direct contact (touching, sneezing, changing rooms, etc.) and NOT through the water. Student participation will be restricted if there is any contagious illness. Children with diarrhea will not be admitted; a complete shutdown of the pool will be necessary should an diarrhea accident occur.

Should I send my child to class if they have an illness?

Avoid sending your child to class if they have an illness, or open sores. Children who do not feel well during class will be sent home.
